Wii Sports Wiki

Hey, Wikians!

Recently, I have been talking to the other staff about deleting unnecessary categories. This includes, but is not limited to, categories that are redundant, useless, opinionated, ambiguous, or far too specific. Since then, most of the categories that were deemed as such have been deleted, and removed from the pages - although some have been adding such categories back since they were deleted.

In this blog, I'll be giving y'all a reminder about what categories are no longer allowed on this wiki, having discussed this with the admins already. Categories about favorite colors, such as "Miis whose favorite color is Blue", is the most specific and weird category that should exist. See Special:Categories for a list of which categories exist and can be used freely.

Categories which are prohibited[]

Firstly, Don't create any new categories that don't exist yet without discussing it with staff first. Also, generally, (although not always) categories with only 1 or 2 pages are redundant and unnecessary.
The following categories are prohibited:

  1. As mentioned, using ones like "Miis whose favorite color is Green" or such is the proper format now. Don't do ones like "Purple Males" or "Yellow Females", or "Miis Who Love Orange". Stick to the standard format.
  2. Extremely specific/obscure categories, such as "Miis who don't appear in a ____ armor," "Wii Sports Club Miis that have hairstyles that were on the Wii to begin with", and "Miis whose eyebrows don't match their haircolor" are not allowed. (That may sound obvious, but there were many such categories before.)
  3. Categories about hair/skin colors, and body features, such as "Miis with black hair", "Yellow-skinned Miis", "Bald Miis", "Miis with Facial Hair", you get the idea.
  4. Categories relating to nationality, such as "American Miis" or "Chinese Miis".
  5. Opinionated categories, such as "Cute Miis", "Emotional-looking Miis", etc.
  6. And obviously, spam/gibberish/vandalism categories are definitely not allowed.

If you have any questions, comments, or confusions, feel free to leave them in the comments below.
