- You can jump over the attack, but only when the opponent attacks horizontally.
- The champion (Pit) wears black armor and a green sword which strikes MUCH stronger and is more effective. After you beat him, you can press and hold 2 at the player select screen to get it.
- The Miis at Grade ★2 are much more defensive than aggressive.
- If the first 3 rounds are over and both players tie after those rounds, the arena will shrink into a diamond shape.

Changes[]
- You can use the green sword like in duel, but it takes away 2 hearts instead of only one.
- More armor colors:
- Gray armor: 3 hearts. They never defend themselves but they are VERY AGGRESSIVE. They first appear in stage 11 and Cheng-Han is the first one who wears it.
- Light Pink armor: 2 hearts. They have the same size as the red armored enemies and act like gold armored enemies from Stage 13 of the original showdown. They first appear in stage 7. Erick and Araceli are the first ones who wear it.
- Sky Blue armor: 2 hearts. They start appearing at stage 13, behave like agressive gold armors in stage 19, always twirl their swords, have skinny legs, do not defend themselves after failing to attack, attack twice instead of three times and have dual bladed swords.
- Black armor enemies first appear in stage 6 instead of stage 10.
- Miis will have arms.
- Green armored Miis will be slightly more common.
- You will get a shield after you beat stage 10. It breaks after it takes 5 hits.
- Every single armor will have the Nintendo logo.
- Bosses will have small black armor from stages 10 to 17.
- Miis will have swords that match their favorite color, except bosses, who always have purple swords. Examples: When a Mii likes red, they will use a red sword. When he/she likes orange, they will use an orange sword.
- Miis will vanish into rainbow light instead of blue light.
