Teammate Madness (Team Building in NA and Mii Poker in Japan) is a TV Party mode in Wii Party U.

The premise is similar to Swap Meet/Mii of a Kind from Wii Party.

This game mode last around 20 to 30 minutes, according to the game.

Objective

This game can be played with three or five rounds. Each round the player has to make a team based on poker hands to earn points. To do this the player plays a minigame to pick out the Miis they want to put on their team of five. The winner gets to pick five Miis to replace, second gets to pick four, third gets to pick three and last fourth gets to pick only two. 

The colors of the Mii's jerseys are orange, pink, purple and green. The numbers range from 1 to 13. During this minigame sometimes a Star Mii will appear which represents any number or color.

Gameplay

In this Game Mode, you will try to get as many points as possible by grabbing Miis in the middle and putting them in your set. The game will start off with showing the first set of Miis.

After that, the game will make you play a minigame for order.

• First gets to choose from 5.
• Second gets to choose from 4.
• Third gets to choose from 3.
• Fourth gets to choose from 2.

The set of Miis in the middle changes after a player finally decides what to have for their row. The amount of points you get depends on the Miis on your set. If there isn't a match, you get no points, meaning you wasted your turn.

There is a type of Mii that no matter what you do with it on your set, they will always give you points. This Mii is called a Star Mii. A Star Mii could be literally anything. Once you have it, it'll be easier to get points. They are basically a substitute for what you don't have.

This will go on for 5 rounds total, and whoever gets the most points wins the game.

Matches

Different matches give more points. If the player makes no match it will be counted as "poor teamwork"^PAL, or "no team chemistry"^NA, and earns no points.

List of Teams and Points

Teams are based on poker hands.

Poor Teamwork/No Team Chemistry (役なし no role): The player has not been able to make a match of any kind (ex: Pink 1, orange 3, green 8, purple 9, and orange 13). This kind of match gives 0 points.

Team of Two (ワンペア one pair): When two teammates share the same number (Pink 2, purple 2), the player earns 1 point.

Double Duo (ツーペア two pair): When there are two sets of teammates that share same numbers (Pink 2 and purple 2, green 11 and orange 11), 2 points are earned.

Team of Three (スリーカード three of a kind): When three teammates share the same number (Orange 3, green 3, pink 3), you get 3 points.

Super Team/Serial Team (ストレート straight): 4 points are awarded if the player makes a logical suit in ascending order (9, 10, 11, 12, 13 - it doesn't matter which color).

• If the players have the same color, it is called a Star Team/Super-Serial Team (ストレートフラッシュ straight flush) and the player gets 12 points instead

Matching Team (フラッシュ flush): When all players have the same color, the player gets 5 points.

3-2 Team (フルハウス full house): When the player makes a group of 3 and a group of 2 (5, 5, 5, 7, 7), the player gets 7 points.

Team of Four (フォーカード four of a kind): When the player makes a group of 4 (5, 5, 5, 5), 10 points are awarded.

Perfect Team: The player has been able to make a group of 5 (7, 7, 7, 7, 7) and thus gets 16 points.

• The player will need to get a star jersey due to the game only having four colors. (This is the only combination where a star jersey is required)

Trivia

• This game shares a lot of traits similar to Swap Meet from Wii Party, where you need to match up a row in a specific way to get points.
• If a round starts and a Mii with a star outfit appear, Party Phil will literally say "I'm seeing stars!"
