Information

Game:

Wii Party U

Type:

2-4 players

Instructions:

"Build the perfect soccer team of Mii players in Team Building! Put together the best combination of colors to create the best team possible."

Team Building (Teammate Madness in PAL and Mii ポーカー (Mii Poker) in Japan) is a TV Party mode in Wii Party U.

This game mode lasts around twenty to thirty minutes, according to the description.

Gameplay[]

Each round, the players play an All-Play Minigame to decide turn order, then assemble soccer teams based on poker hands to earn points, done by taking Miis from the center and swapping them with players in their team of five. The set of Miis in the middle changes every time a player finishes their turn. The winner of the Minigame gets to pick from five Miis in the middle, with the lower ranking players being dealt one less Mii than the last: second gets four, third gets three, and fourth gets two.

The colors of the Mii's jerseys are orange, pink, purple, and green, and their numbers range from 1 to 13. Rarely, a Mii will appear with a multicolored jersey - marked with a star - that can represent any color and number.

The player with the most points after 5 rounds wins the game.

List of Teams and Points[]

Teams are based on poker hands, and more difficult-to-assemble teams will score more points. If the player makes no matches, their team will be named "poor teamwork"PAL, or "no team chemistry"NA, and they won't earn any points.

  • Poor Teamwork/No Team Chemistry (役なし high card): When there's no matches of any kind (for example pink 1, orange 3, green 8, purple 9, orange 13), no points are earned.
  • Team of Two (ワンペア one pair): When two teammates share the same number (for example green 2, orange 5, purple 2, purple 3, pink 1), the player earns 1 point.
  • Double Duo (ツーペア two pair): When there are two sets of teammates that share same numbers (for example green 2, orange 5, purple 2, purple 3, pink 5), 2 points are earned.
  • Team of Three (スリーカード three of a kind): When three teammates share the same number, 3 points are earned (for example green 9, orange 9, purple 2, purple 3, pink 9).
  • Super Team/Serial Team (ストレート straight): If the player makes a team with numbers in ascending order (for example Star, orange 10, purple 11, purple 12, pink 13), 4 points are awarded.
  • Matching Team (フラッシュ flush): When all five Miis on the team wear the same color (for example green 8, green 5, green 9, green 2, green 10), 5 points are earned.
  • 3-2 Team (フルハウス full house): When three teammates share the same number and the other two also match, (for example green 2, orange 5, purple 2, purple 5, pink 2), 7 points are earned.
  • Team of Four (フォーカード four of a kind): When four teammates share the same number (for example green 2, orange 2, purple 2, purple 9, pink 2), 10 points are earned.
  • Star Team/Super Serial Team (ストレートフラッシュ straight flush): When the player makes a super/serial team with the color of every Mii's jersey matching (for example Star, orange 6, orange 7, Star, orange 9), 12 points are earned.
  • Team of Five/Perfect Team (ファイブカード five of a kind): When all five teammates share the same number (for example green 12, Star, purple 12, orange 12, Star), the player is awarded 16 points.

Trivia[]

  • This game shares a lot of traits similar to Swap Meet from Wii Party, where the players need to match up rows in a specific way to get points.
  • If a round starts and a Mii with a star outfit appears, Party Phil will say "Ooh! I'm seeing stars!".
    Itsatie
If everyone gets the same points, the game will result in a tie.
  • The gameplay is similar to those in Poker, but with different names for matches, the possibility of making 5 of a kind (in-game: Team of Five), and no king, queen jack, or ace, these cards represented by jerseys with 13, 12, 11, and 1 respectively.
  • This game casts 54 Miis as the soccer players, one for each jersey combination (13 Miis represent 1-13 in each of the 4 colors) + 2 Miis in star jerseys. Repeated jerseys won't be represented by any other Miis in that game.
