Spot the Sneak (Rule Reversal in Wii Party PAL version) is a game played with 2-4 players, counting as a Minigames mode in both Wii Party and Wii Party U. It is unlocked by playing through all of the 4-player minigames at least once.
Options[]
- Number of rounds: 3 or 5
Gameplay[]
This mode revolves around three or five rounds, where the players will play normal 4-player minigames. However, one of the players (including CPUs) will get a secret advantage which is announced before each minigame starts. Before the Minigames, there is a "Rumble Time" where everybody's Wii Remote, except for the sneak's (or cheater's), rumbles. This lets the players know if they are the sneak. Once the minigame is finished, the players get points based on their rankings (1st place is 40 points, 2nd place is 30 points, 3rd place is 20 points and 4th place is 10 points), and then they must guess who the sneak was (CPUs aren't able to guess). If the players guess correctly, they take 10-20 points from the sneak/cheater, if they're incorrect, the sneak/cheater takes 10-20 points from them (of course, it doesn't matter whom the cheater picks). After 3 or 5 rounds, the player(s) with the most points win.
Minigames included[]
Wii Version[]
- Pearl Plunder - When the sneak nears a closed oyster, it will open and reveal a pearl.
- Face Flip - The sneak's Wii Remote will rumble more strongly than usual when pointing at each correct card.
- Dicey Descent - When the sneak is standing on the safe side, the Wii Remote will rumble once a second.
- Maze Daze - The dizzy spinners won't mix up the sneak's controls.
- Stop Watchers - The sneak's Wii Remote will rumble four times—once a second from three seconds before the correct time.
- Follow Your Face - The sneak's Wii Remote will rumble more strongly than usual when pointing at the correct cup.
- Hammer Heads - When the sneak nears a closed hole, a golden mole will pop out.
- Zombie Tag - The zombies won't go after the sneak.
- Ram Jam - The sheep will stay out of the sneak's way.
- Balloon Buggies - Balloons will appear more frequently in front of and behind the sneak.
- Chopper Hoppers - Mii characters will slowly gather below the sneak's helicopter.
- Walk-Off - When the sneak reaches the correct distance, the Wii Remote will rumble.
Wii U Version[]
- Water Walkers - The Sneak's ninja can perform a perfect jump every time. Just press or hold B on the Wii Remote. How sneaky!
- Cage Chomp - When the Sneak points the cursor on a plus (+) card, the Wii Remote will rumble.
- Alley Hoops - The Sneak can press B to grab a gold ball.
- Star Pupil - The Sneak's Wii Remote will rumble right before the woman appears.
- Snap Judgement - The Sneak's sign will always be correct when pressing B!
- Run to the Sun - The Sneak's Wii Remote will rumble after choosing the wrong course.
- Lap Happy - The Sneak can press B to swim as perfectly as possible. Like a fish, even!
- Ramped Up - The Sneak's Wii Remote will rumble when the Sneak passes by the perfect starting point!
- Safari Hustle - The Sneak can hold B while sprinting to not lose any stamina.
- Flock Shot - The Sneak's Wii Remote will rumble right before the greatest number of birds appears on the screen.
- Cliff Riders - The Sneak doesn't have to do anything to stay on the path and move ahead. But it may look suspicious if you don't move at all! Press and hold 2 to be able to move and fall like the other players.
- Close Knit - The Sneak can hold B to knit at the absolute fastest speed possible.
- Balance Broncos - The Sneak can press B to prevent being thrown from the bronco. Giddyup!
- Fruit or Scare - The Wii Remote will rumble when the Sneak stands in front of any box that contains apples. The more apples a box contains, the more the Wii Remote will rumble.
Comparison of both versions.
Trivia[]
- When the sneak is revealed, the players who guessed correctly will look at them smiling, while those who don't will look at the sneak in shock instead.
- This also means that CPUs will always look at the sneak in shock, as they cannot guess.
- In Wii Party, if one player gets everyone else's vote, they will become shocked and glance around at them, regardless of if they are actually the sneak or not.
- In Wii Party, the host is Party Phil, but Wii Party U, where Party Penny was introduced, has her as the host.
- After every round is over, the camera angle will change for the introduction of the next round.

In Wii Party.

In Wii Party U.
- In Wii Party, five Spot the Sneak games go unused, those being Derby Dash, Shifty Gifts, Crash Balls, Tropical Punch, and Quicker Chipper, likely due to making it far too obvious who the sneak is (Crash Balls in particular giving the sneak a clear unfair advantage), regardless of whether or not a sneak pretends to be a normal player. These Sport the Sneak games in action can be viewed here.
- In Derby Dash, the Sneak can continue making the horse accelerate even after it's stamina has emptied. Holding B will allow the horse to become tired as normal.
- In Shifty Gifts, the Sneak is unable to drop their stack of gifts. Holding B will allow the Sneak to drop them as usual.
- In Quicker Chipper, the Sneak can make their chip regardless of if their shot has the correct power. Holding B removes the Sneak's perfect accuracy.
- In Crash Balls, the Sneak is unable to fall into any open holes, being pushed away by invisible barriers. Holding B allows the sneak to fall into holes normally.
- In Tropical Punch, the Sneak cannot be KO'd by an opponent's punch. Holding B makes the Sneak vulnerable to punches as normal.
- When the game is about to reveal the sneak, Party Penny walks in front of the players as if she was investigating them, while Party Phil stands still with an angry look on his face.
- This is the only returning mode from Wii Party. Everything else in Wii Party U is brand new.
- The music in Wii Party U is a remix of the original Spot The Sneak music.
