Smile Snap (にっこりカメラマン (Smile Cameraman) in the Japanese version) is a 4-Player Minigame in Wii Party.
Gameplay[]
The player must take the picture that has the most Miis smiling. The Miis will occasionally look away from the camera and have either normal, angry, sad, or surprised expressions, which do not count (they will also look away before the Minigame starts).
Controls[]
- Hold the Wii Remote horizontally.
- Press A to take a picture.
Trivia[]
- A smiling Mii's face doesn't have to be centered in looking at the camera for it to count. The faces of the Miis actually go through a few frames before making another facial expression. After they're done looking away from the camera, they will start to smile again and go back to look at the camera.
- It is very rare but possible to get a perfect (8 smiles). It is luck-based and it takes usually less than 1 second for it to last. Master Difficulty Miis do not gain their opportunities to get a perfect image since the expected number of smiles they get is 5-6 smiles.
- If you fail to take a picture within a time limit, you get a blank image with gray background. You also automatically get 0 as a score since there are no Miis.
- In rare cases, a Beginner Difficulty Mii can do better than a Master Difficulty Mii in this minigame. While their expected values of each difficulty are different of each other, there are times where a Beginner Difficulty Mii gets six or seven smiles, winning against the Master Difficulty Miis.
- The expected number of smiles a CPU can get is determined by its difficulty (and calculating its interquartile range):
- Beginner Difficulty CPUs get one-two smiles.
- Standard Difficulty CPUs get two-three smiles.
- Advanced Difficulty CPUs get three-four smiles.
- Expert Difficulty CPUs get four-five smiles.
- Master Difficulty CPUs get five-six smiles.
- These CPU<s never get smiles below the given range.
- The 8 Miis seen in the example video on the rules section of the minigame are Miguel, Julie, Hayley, Eduardo, Anna, Víctor, Ai and Jackie.
