Poserobics (レッツ!ポージング (Let's pose!) in the Japanese version) is a 1 vs 3 Minigame in Wii Party.
Objective[]
The solo player has to try to eliminate the other three by tricking them into making a different pose than them, while the other three must avoid elimination by imitating the solo player. Each round, after a three-beat count-in, the solo player strikes their pose, followed by the team. Any team member who doesn't strike the same pose as the soloist is eliminated.
If, after seven rounds, there is at least one team member left, then the three players win. If all three are eliminated before then, the solo player wins.
The music speeds up after the first two rounds, and then gets even faster after round four, meaning the team of three must react quicker.
Note: If the solo player doesn't press a button, they will not lose and will not pose either. In this case, the team must not press any buttons in order to complete the round.
Controls[]
- Press the D-Pad, A, or B buttons to strike a pose. You can change poses twice per round.
Trivia[]
- The name of this game is a pun on "pose" and "aerobics".
- In the background, three Miis are on treadmills, with one walking, and the other two running. There is a fourth Mii simply standing still, and two more Miis will idly walk through the gym.
- If any players on the team of three fail to copy the solo player, the standing Mii will shake their arm and head. They will clap when all remaining players either succeed or fail.
- The poses the Miis make resemble their corresponding buttons.
- If the team includes any CPU characters, doing nothing is not a good strategy for the solo player, as they NEVER make mistakes if you do so (regardless of the CPU level).
- Strangely enough, the preview shows Ren, Rin, Mike, and Emily going at the fastest speed, despite it being only the first round.
- The premise of this minigame is similar to the Mario Party 2 minigame, Look Away, but unlike Poserobics, the goal there is to not do the same thing as the solo player - in this case, looking in the same direction. Look Away also has five rounds and different options rather than seven and four respectively, unlike Poserobics.
- There are two unused poses for this minigame resembling a 1 and a 2, implying those buttons would've originally been used in the minigame's controls.
The unused 1 and 2 poses, as demonstrated by Party Phil.
