The Nintendo Switch (or Switch) is a console developed by Nintendo and released on March 3, 2017. This console is competing against PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, or in current generation, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The Nintendo Switch was unveiled on October 20, 2016. Known in development by its codename NX, the concept of the Switch came about as Nintendo's reaction to several quarters of financial losses into 2014, attributed to poor sales of its previous console, the Wii U, and market competition from mobile games.

- Joy-Cons are the main controllers for the Switch, and are able to be taken off and put back in for gameplay away from the television and when traveling.

The Nintendo Switch Lite is a console developed by Nintendo which is designed to be a handheld only and cheaper version of the Nintendo Switch.[1]
Appearance[]
It's a smaller version of the Switch that is only in portable mode and its joy-cons cannot be taken out. It also cannot be connected to the TV.[2] It's available in different colors just like the regular Switch. Excluding special editions, the default color options are gray, turqoise, yellow, coral, and blue.

This Nintendo Switch is $50 more expensive version of the Nintendo Switch.
This model comes with red/blue or white joy cons. The screen is a brighter OLED display, which is more brighter than using a backlight on an LCD. It is 7 inches diagonal instead of 6.2 inches.
