- Not to be confused with Minigame Collection.
In Wii Party and Wii Party U, there are a variety of Minigames. They consist of five types.
4-Player Minigames[]
4-Player Minigames can be played with up to four players and are often used to determine the order of play or reward the player(s) with advantages (i.e. an extra dice in Board Game Island).
1 vs 3 Minigames[]
1 vs 3 Minigames are games where the other 3 players form a team and go up against a solo player.
1 vs 1 Minigames[]
1 vs 1 Minigames are games where 1 player goes up against another in order to gain an advantage and/or hinder their opponent's progress.
Pair Minigames[]
Pair Minigames are games where 2 players must work together to complete the Minigame.
Challenge Minigames[]
Challenge Minigames consist of both new minigame concepts and more challenging versions of regular Minigames. They require a variable amount of players, depending on the Minigames selected.

Trivia[]
- When a CPU chooses to play a 1 vs 1 Minigame, they will always pick the player in first place. However, if they are in first, they will pick the second-place player.
- In Wii Party, the controller seems to be blocking the video used as an example of gameplay for the Minigames. This doesn't happen in Wii Party U.

Wii Party U.

Wii Party.
- In the Japanese and Korean versions of Wii Party, an announcer (a male in the Korean version and a female in the Japanese version) will explain how to hold the Wii Remote on the Minigame's rule screen. There is no announcer on the North American and European versions.
