Hide-and-Go-Beak is an All-Play Minigame in Wii Party U.
Gameplay[]
The players have ten seconds to choose a fake bush to hide behind (They can't pick the same bush as another player). An ostrich will then go around the bushes and knock them down one at a time. They may also survey a bush before either switching, or knocking it down. They will continue knocking the bushes down until only one player is left. If the ostrich finds you, you're pecked out of the game! The last player hiding wins.
Trivia[]
- This Minigame, along with Run to the Sun (Wii Party U), Risky Railroad, Lucky Launch, and Dicey Descent (Wii Party) are the only Wii Party/Wii Party U Minigames based on luck. No matter which fake bush the players hide behind, the ones the ostrich knocks down are always completely random.
- Marie is seen as player 1 and Delilah is seen as player 3 in this minigame, while players 2 and 4 aren’t seen, however, based off the fact that Miis seen Wii U Party U Minigame instructions go in ID order, it’s likely that Alphonse is player 2, and Merrick is player 4.
- If you look correctly, the ostrich doesn't actually contact the a player's head when pecking them.
- Some of the ostrich's sound effects are shared with the Huebirds of Happiness from the Rhythm Heaven series.
- When the ostrich is pecking a player or making vocal sounds, its beak doesn't open if noticed closely.
Notice that the ostrich's beak isn't touching the Mii at all!
