If you're looking for the sport, go to Golf (sport).
Golf is one of the 5 training sports featured in Wii Sports and Wii Sports Club.
There are three different training modes for this sport in each game:
- Wii Sports: Putting, Hitting the Green, Target Practice
- Wii Sports Club: Pro Putter, Chip-In Bingo, Driver Challenge
Wii Sports
Putting
The player must putt a Golf ball that has been placed on the green in the hole. If the player misses, the ball is reset and the player may try again from the same location. The game ends after the player makes five mistakes. There are ten holes to complete, each accessed after the previous one was holed successfully.
- Bronze medal = 5
- Silver medal = 7
- Gold medal = 10
- Platinum medal = 10 (with all 5 balls remaining)
Hitting the Green
The player must hit a golf ball that has been placed near the green as close to the hole as he can. The player takes ten shots, each from different locations, and with differing wind speeds and directions. At the end, the total distance from the ball to the hole for each shot will be added together. If the player fails to land the ball on the green on any given shot, they are given 100 ft (30.48 m) regardless of how far from the green it is.
- Bronze medal = 492 ft/150m
- Silver medal = 246 ft/75m
- Gold medal = 164 ft/50m
- Platinum medal = 66 ft/20m
Target Practice
In Target Practice, the player's goal is to accumulate as many points as possible in ten strokes, with gradually more difficult winds for each shot. To do so, the player must attempt to hit one of two targets, one situated at the opposite end of a large lake and one placed in the center of the lake. The nearer to the center the player hits the ball, the more points will be awarded. Unlike Hitting the Green, points are calculated based on where the ball first lands, not where it stops rolling.
- Bronze medal = 200
- Silver medal = 400
- Gold medal = 650
- Platinum medal = 800
Wii Sports Club
(Please help to complete the description for this section! You can just remove this notice when it's done.) PAL names are in brackets.
Pro Putter (Putter Madness)
In Pro Putter, the player should putt all of the balls into 10 holes.
Chip-In Bingo (Bingo Clubber)
Chip-In Bingo is being played similarly to Bingo games, only being played with golf balls instead of circling the numbers. If a set of Bingo is completed, the game will just continue until the player runs out of the balls.
The minimum requirement to get the platinum medal is 250 points.
Driver Challenge (Target Shooter)
In Driver Challenge, the objective is to hit the ball into the target, passing through the gate. When the ball gets through the gate, the score will multiply. The gate size can be altered. However, the wider the size, the multiply number is smaller. Also, depending where the ball lands, it will also affect your score.
Trivia
- As with the 9 standard holes, the layout of the Target Practice hole is also taken from NES Golf.
- Oddly, despite never being playable in the Wii Sports Golf sport, this course also appears as a preview image on the course select menu in said game. The targets are absent, and there is a flagpole in the normally covered hole.
