The Champion is the final CPU faced in a sport, who has the highest skill out of all competitors. After the Champion is beaten, the player will then face a random CPU, (excluding Wii Sports Tennis) whose skill level will be much higher than who they initially faced.
In Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports Club, the player can unlock secret inputs for small rewards by beating the champion (e.g. a purple sword in Swordplay duel).
Wii Sports[]
Beating the champion of any sport results in the player's Mii receiving a message congratulating them on the Wii Message Board, along with a prize in the case of Boxing.
- Tennis - Elisa (Level 2000) (Will always partner with Sarah (Level 1900)) (Will be faced repeatedly after the player beats her)
- Baseball - Sakura (Level 1185 to 1349) (Can be skipped if the player's skill level jumps from less than 1200 to at least 1300)
- Boxing - Matt (Level 1550 to 1649) (When you beat him, you can wear his Silver Gloves) (The player starts facing him after their skill level goes to 1500 or higher)
Wii Sports Resort[]
As with Wii Sports, beating the champion of any sports results in the player's Mii receiving a message congratulating them, as well as a Stamp and a sort of prize (e.g. a purple sword). All champions in Wii Sports Resort have a skill level of 1496 to 1500 and they start being faced when the player has at least 1485 points. A remix of the regular VS. screen music featuring a distorted electric guitar is used whenever a champion is about to be faced. They lose their "Champion" tag and special music when facing the random Miis.
- Swordplay - Matt - (Purple Sword) (Last Mii Standing (Duel)/A Cut Above (Speed Slice))
- Table Tennis - Lucía - (Hotel Shoe) (Table Titan)
- Basketball - Tommy - (The player's team gets to run faster and jump higher just like Tommy and his team) (Hoop Hero)
- Cycling - While a Champion branding is not used in Cycling, Anna starts 1st according to the game files.
Wii Sports Club[]
As with Wii Sports Resort, beating the Champion of any sports results in the player's Mii receiving a Stamp and a prize they can use. All Champions are Grade ★10, but start being faced at Grade ★5. After the first time they are faced, the player must complete five matches before facing them again.
- Boxing - Pit (prize = Shark/Dragon Boxing Gloves) (King of Swing)
- Baseball - Enrique (prize = Spiked Bat) (Champ Stamp)
Trivia[]
- The champions of Tennis and Boxing in Wii Sports are also the coaches in the training mode.
- In the European/Australian version of Wii Sports Club, Enrique's team is referred to as "Champions", referring to him and his whole team. The North American version retains the "Champion" tag for him.
- Matt is unique, as he is the champion of 2 sports, being Boxing and Swordplay.
- In Wii Sports Club Online, you can use the Champion reward items to play against other players.
- Elisa is the only Champion to always be in Superstar Class if it was applied to Wii Sports, making her the highest ranked champion at 2000 Skill Level.
