Speed challenge
Canoeing is one of the 12 games of Wii Sports Resort. It consists of the Speed Challenge and VS Modes.
Gameplay
When you play the game, your Wii Remote transforms into a paddle. You have to hold the Wii Remote like how you would hold it to do Canoeing in real life. The Remote is being held vertically with the sensor facing upwards. In Air Sports, Mike is shown as the Extreme Canoeist who is trying to paddle all the way from Wuhu Island to Wedge Island. However, if you take a closer look at the location itself, someone other than Mike might be in the canoe.
Speed Challenge
The Speed Challenge is where the player races against time to reach the finishing point. The distance between the start and the finishing point increases whenever the player passes each stage.
The time limit also increases for each difficulty level.
Your licenses are:
Beginner: 200m
Intermediate: 300m
Expert: 400m
Your time limits are:
Beginner: 0m50s
Intermediate: 1m15s
Expert: 1m30s
VS
Miyu and Stéphanie about to play VS.
The VS mode is where 2-4 players challenge each other to break the bars as soon as possible.

There are three types of races with a certain amount of hazards (Excluding the first one). These races are organized by difficulty, just like the speed challenge. Here are the three of them:
Beginner
- None
Intermediate
- Lilypads
- Grass
- Fish (they move around)
Expert
- Logs
- Geysers
Practice Mode
Practice Mode is a mode you can attempt at any skill level. To do so, press the (-) button when at the Starting screen for Canoeing. If you are a beginner you will have a tutorial in this mode. Your goal is to help the Mother Duck find all 10 of her babies wandering over the lake.
