Bowling

Bowling is one of the 5 training sports featured in Wii Sports. There are three different variations of the game, Picking Up Spares, Power Throws, and Spin Control.

Picking Up Spares

A player must knock down different numbers of pins that have been placed in a variety of places to qualify. If the player makes 5 mistakes, the game is over. There are 20 lanes to pass.

  • Bronze medal = 7
  • Silver medal = 12
  • Gold medal = 17
  • Platinum medal = 20

Power Throws

Power Throws is a game with ten stages. The player attempts to knock down as many pins as they can. The number of pins increases with every stage eventually ending up with a total of 91 pins. One point is awarded per pin knocked down. When you have a strike the points will be doubled on the stage. The highest score possible is 890 pins.

Secret Strike: On the last stage (91 pins), if the ball is rolled all the way down the lane on the side gutter guards, it will set off an earthquake that will knock down all the pins.

Spin Control

In Spin Control a player bowls a ball down a lane that has barriers placed on it. The idea is to pass the barrier(s) and hit the pin at the end of the lane to qualify. If the player makes 5 mistakes, the game ends. There are 20 lanes to pass.

  • Bronze medal = 7
  • Silver medal = 12
  • Gold medal = 17
  • Platinum medal = 20
